While I definitely prefer old European architecture - I swoon over cute cobblestone streets and half-timbered houses - I am enjoying modern architecture here in Copenhagen.
I find that some of the buildings are really strange, but they are so different from anything that I know or have every seen that I like them.

There is so much interesting architecture here that it just blows my mind away. I love the mix of the old and the new. You never know what is coming around the corner!
Great photos, those buildings are so interesting! Especially the triangular balconies, I love the photos you took showing them from underneath. I am with you when you say you prefer old buildings, but the ones in the photos you have taken are really interesting x
RépondreSupprimerI'm having fun discovering Copenhagen's modern architecture. I have even made bike trips to go out and see places I have read about on the internet. I guess you can call me a modern architecture tourist!
SupprimerI feel that Denmark is so innovative and forward-thinking with their architecture. They want to construct a building with a practical purpose but that is not an eyesore.
Funky! It's funny because I picture Denmark as an "old country", much like other countries in Europe, and expect traditional architecture. It makes me wonder what the layout of the apartments/rooms is inside.
RépondreSupprimerI wish I could use my apartment as an example of a typical Danish apartment, but I can't because it's too cluttered. Danish design is minimalist and the rooms are very roomy and airy. They love simple yet tastefully-done furniture that is practical. The interiors are quite modern looking in my opinion. The building facades look old but the interiors are made for today's modern society.
SupprimerFor me Denmark is in between the old and the new worlds(Europe vs. North America) because while it maintains its hold on the old with beautiful architecture and cobblestone streets, the interiors are new. The apartments are so functional and well laid-out.
